NorthPort finally signed Jamie Malonzo and Troy Rike to rookie contracts more than a month after being taken in the first round of the PBA Draft.
Team manager Bonnie Tan met with Malonzo and Rike Monday, April 19 to finalize the deals after a brief delay due to the stoppage of practices caused by the implementation of stricter community quarantine regulations.

NORTHPORT finally came to terms with its two first-round picks in the last PBA Rookie Draft, including No. 2 overall selection Jamie Malonzo.
The Batang Pier management signed the 6-foot-7 Malonzo and big man Troy Rike to contracts on Monday in the presence of their respective representatives.
Malonzo, the athletic forward out of De La Salle, was signed to a maximum contract while Rike, taken at No. 11 overall, agreed to a two-year deal. Continue reading below ↓

YOUSEF Taha’s long PBA journey has now taken him to Alaska.
The 6-foot-8 free agent was given a one-year contract by the Aces on Friday in a bid to further shore up their frontcourt for the 46th season of the PBA.
Taha signed the deal in the presence of Alaska team manager Dickie Bachmann, Alaska Sports Development and Public Relations Manager CK Kanapi-Daniolco, and his agent Marvin Espiritu.
Taha has been practicing with the Aces’ group workouts the past few weeks, his patience and hard work finally convincing the Alaska coaching staff led by Jeff Cariaso to give the 32-year-old big man a slot in its roster.
