A PRISONER threw a kettle of boiling water over his cellmate in an unprovoked and cowardly attack, a court heard. James Andrew Turner, an inmate at HMP Berwyn in Wrexham, appeared at Mold Crown Court on Thursday for sentencing. The 31-year-old had been convicted of assaulting fellow inmate Martin Ready, occasioning him actual bodily harm, at a previous hearing. Richard Edwards, prosecuting, told the court that on June 17 last year the two had been cell mates. Shortly before 9.30am Mr Ready had been re-entering the cell after going to the exercise yard. When the door was opened, Turner lunched at him and threw boiling water from a kettle over his head and shoulders.
