Schools across Winsford pay tribute to Captain Sir Tom Moore

BEFORE they broke up for half term, children across several schools in Winsford paid tribute to the late Captain Sit Tom Moore. Many of the schools used themes based around the number 100, which was the number of laps Sir Tom completed in his garden during the first lockdown which raised a staggering £32million for the NHS. At Oak View Academy, children in each class took part in a challenge to collectively contribute to the completion of their own 100 laps, which varied from laps around the classroom for the younger children to laps around the playground for those that little bit older.

Teachers stage fun-filled panto at St Joseph s Jake Ellam ended up covered in cream as he played Widow Twanky in a panto at St Joseph s Primary School MAGICAL mayhem erupted as a Winsford school celebrated Christmas with a difference. Teachers and children at St Joseph s Catholic Primary dressed up as panto characters for a day of fun and laughter. Staff performed a fun-filled show and all the pupils were able to watch the comic capers online in their classrooms.  Sue Doherty as Widow Twanky  Jeanne Raymond as Captain Hook Widow Twanky, Buttons, Captain Cook, Tinkerbell and mad hatter were just some of the many much loved favourites who took to the stage.
