Laredo officials heed caution as COVID-19 metrics show progress against virus

Despite metrics showing that the spread of COVID-19 is shrinking in Laredo, local leaders continued to urge caution to prevent an unnecessary surge of the virus in the coming weeks in their daily coronavirus briefing.
Laredo officials have reported a a decrease of hospitalization and the number of patients seen at local hospitials over the last two weeks, which is a welcome sign of progress against the virus.

POPLARVILLE, Miss. (WDAM) - The Pearl River football staff was elated to announce their 2021 signing class Wednesday afternoon. The class represents the first group head coach Seth Smith and his staff have been able to recruit for a calendar year. While the COVID-19 pandemic complicated the way teams can recruit, Smith is confident the class will shine over the next two years for the Wildcats.
“We are extremely excited about our first full signing class,” Smith said. “We’ve had over nine months to evaluate these guys and also evaluate our needs for the 2021 team moving forward.
