Whether you choose to stay in or go out (with a mask on), we encourage you to show up for your local AAPI communities, whether that means donating to an organization that is providing direct support, patroning Asian-owned businesses, or simply calling a friend to remind them that you’re in their corner. We’ve all been through a lot over the past year, and if we’ve learned anything, it’s that these burdens become just a little bit lighter when we’re not shouldering them alone. Vocal Arts DC Presents Rod Gilfry in a Virtual Concert With Pianist Peter Walsh Gilfry, a two-time Grammy nominee, has gained status as one of the top operatic baritones in the world, while also crossing over into musicals to great acclaim.by BWW News Desk On February 26th, Vocal Arts DC presents American baritone Rod Gilfry in a virtual concert with pianist Peter Walsh. The performance will include selections by Francis Poulenc, Jake Heggie, Morten Lauridsen, Charles Ives, Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel as well as original jazz arrangements of classic French art songs by Gilfry, Peter Walsh and Matthew Aucoin. The performance will stream, via Vocal Arts DC s website through March 9th.

12 pm ET: Mark Morris Dance Group presents Dido and Aeneas. A screening of the 1995 film directed by Barbara Willis Sweete who recreated the Dido and Aeneas set on a sound stage in Toronto and filmed it without the constraints of a proscenium stage and with Morris in his critically acclaimed role. The screening will be followed by a live Q&A with Morris and Sweete and launches a week of activities including talks with dancers and artistic collaborators.
