25 YEARS: Multi-storey car-park controversy brought to the attention of Prince Charles The controversy over the proposed Well Lane Car Park development has been brought to the attention of Prince Charles. A Falmouth woman who was a member of the Falmouth Action Group which campaigned successfully in 1982 to prevent Carrick from going ahead with plans for the car park has written to the palace. Mrs Marjorie Walker of Waterloo Place is questioning what change of circumstances have occurred to make planners believe the new scheme would be acceptable. She has written to Prince Charles in his capacity as the Duke of Cornwall and asked him to use any influence he might have to stop what she calls “this hideous multi-storey car-park being built.
