New evidence shows U S Government and the American Scientific Establishment involved in cover up of COVID-19 s origin

The Gateway Pundit, reports: International financial interests and the global scientific establishment have never wanted the true source of the COVID-19 virus to be revealed, despite the fact that its laboratory origin was suspected early after the onset of the pandemic. There is now evidence that elements within the U.S. government coordinated with selected members of the U.S. scientific community, no doubt with the blessing of international business and the media, to protect China from responsibility and, in doing so, protected their own interests. By January 13, 2020, there were already  comments on the internet that the COVID-19 virus was manufactured in a laboratory in China and that U.S. scientists may have helped Chinese scientists obtain the knowledge to do so, specifically in the laboratory of Dr. Zheng-Li Shi at the Wuhan Institute of Virology with the assistance of Dr. Ralph Baric at the University of North Carolina.

A life in science grounded President Johnson for leadership

A life in science grounded President Johnson for leadership From the BP oil spill to TV displays, a career of accomplishments At the time, Johnson, now the 16 th president of The Ohio State University, was serving as under-secretary of energy at the U.S. Department of Energy and it was just days after the Deepwater Horizon explosion and oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. The spill was an environmental disaster that killed 11 people and poured barrels of oil into the Gulf’s waters. The Deepwater Horizon, a floating drilling rig that had been exploring a well for oil, had sunk. Crude oil was leaking from the open well into the Gulf, and at the time, no one could say how much oil might be pouring out each day.

Notes From the President Science Matters | The Pew Charitable Trusts

COVID-19 has led to challenges the world has not confronted in more than a century: over 55 million cases and more than 1.3 million deaths; massive disruption to economies; state and local budgets in the U.S. at the breaking point; and lack of contact with loved ones, teachers, colleagues, and friends. And the pandemic has brought greater attention to the role of science in society. Vaccine development, therapeutics, and epidemiology are new topics of conversation in the public square. So in this issue of Trend we step back to explore public attitudes about science and how science can inform policy.  In the months leading up to the pandemic, the Pew Research Center measured the level of trust in science and scientists. The data revealed that large majorities around the globe support government investment in science. But when asked if they trust scientists to do what is right for the public, only 38% of Americans answered “a lot.” So raising public confidence in science is a c

Delivering Science in a Crisis

The COVID-19 pandemic has taken a heavy human toll all over the world; at this writing, more than 1 million people have died, and more than 40 million have been infected. As winter approaches in the Northern Hemisphere, cases are alarmingly on the rise again in the U.S. and Europe. The virus has disproportionately affected racial and ethnic minorities in the U.S. and other countries, exposing long-standing economic disparities and inequities in health care. The U.S. is experiencing extreme unemployment. Researchers have mobilized as never before to develop COVID-19 vaccines and treatments. But it could be many more months before effective vaccines are widely available. In the meantime, students and teachers have returned to school, either virtually, in person, or a mix of both, and national, state, and local decision-makers are making difficult choices about how to balance the protection of public health and safety with the restoration of critical societal functions. Society is depen
