PSC expresses readiness to support athletes in their Olympic push

Speaking at an online media briefing on Monday, Mr. Ramirez expressed their agency’s readiness to support athletes in their pursuit of their Olympic dreams despite limitations being presented by the pandemic. The PSC, Mr. Ramirez said, is making sure that ample budget is allotted for upcoming international competitions, including the rescheduled quadrennial Summer Games, while also facilitating in the training of national athletes in accordance with prevailing health and safety protocols.

PSC to release long-delayed allowances to national athletes

PSC national training director Marc Velasco told CNN Philippines on Wednesday, allowances for Olympic-bound athletes were already being processed and were expected to be released within the day. There has been a slight delay due to annual evaluation of athletes lineup (qualified for allowances) that has been submitted to PSC, Velasco said. On Tuesday, Tokyo-bound boxer Irish Magno shared her plight on social media, revealing she has not received her allowances from the government sports agency since January.
