She was a member of the ABAP women’s team from 2013-2017. Petecio, who has been in the training camp bubble in Laguna since last month, expressed her pain and sorrow in Facebook posts since Saturday, as well as her stories of friendship with Dargantes.

PSC eyeing resumption of training for SEAG-bound athletes

Published January 29, 2021, 5:55 PM Philippine Sports Commissioner Mon Fernandez has been working with various agencies and officials to get approval for the resumption of training for Southeast Asian Games-bound athletes late this year. Fernandez, who is also appointed as the country’s chief of mission to the biennial meet slated in Vietnam, said they have been discussing with the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) on how to resume formal training to the rest of the athletes. “We are working on it,” Fernandez said. So far, the Inter-Agency Task Force only allowed athletes seeking berths to the 2021 Tokyo Olympics as well as qualifiers to train in a bubble-type setup.

President Richard Lim share the spotlight in Tuesday’s session of the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) webcast Forum. Velasco will give his inputs about the bubble training being done by three National Sports Associations (NSAs) inside the Inspire Sports Academy in Calamba, Laguna in preparation for their respective Olympic qualifying tournaments. National training director Marc Velasco said it’s going to be a big boost to the Philippine contingent once the government approves the vaccination against COVID-19 of athletes who have qualified in this year’s Tokyo Olympics.
