Weeks after collaborating on a roadway management review document created to highlight the Billerica streets in the most need of repair, the Select Board celebrated more than $1 million in Chapter 90 funding approved by the state. It s great news, Select Board Chairman Dan Burns said in response to the announcement of the $1,325,478 through state Rep. Marc Lombardo s office.
Burns said the town works to set aside around $2 million each year to fund road repairs. Right now we are working on School House Lane, which is in dire need, Burns said on Thursday, June 24.
The Billerica Highway Department also recently completed work on Marshall Street, adding sidewalks to the area.
