Woman brings art of quilling to this weekend’s Art on the Vine
“It’s been a part of me forever,” she said.
In her youth, a neighboring family had two daughters that matched up age-wise with Shepard and her sister.

The pairs became best friends and spent many hours in search of, and doing, craft projects.
Her grandfather was one of Shepard’s biggest supporters. Each time he saw one of her art projects, he would praise the work.
The friends dabbled in paper-mache, needlepoint and rug hooking.
Harmonically, Carmina Burana is relatively straightforward; the magic lies in the rhythm, and Orchestra Wellington absolutely nailed the lurching syncopation that gives the work its propulsive energy.

Orchestra Wellington s 2021 season gets off to a
thunderous start next weekend.

Taddei leads massed musical forces of the Orchestra,
Wellington Young Voices and the Orpheus Choir in the choral
colossus, Carmina Burana.
With one of the best-known
choruses in music, “O Fortuna”, the Carl Orff
masterpiece is an irresistible whirlwind of power and
colour.
And in an added coup, Orchestra Wellington
have signed up Lexus Song Quest winner and Sol3 Mio member,
Amitai Pati, making his solo concert debut with the
