Mesirow has announced that Bradley Karelitz has joined Mesirow Private Equity as senior vice president.
In this new role, Karelitz will focus on business development and fundraising for the firm’s private equity products, inclusive of primary partnership investments, secondary investments and co-investments.
Karelitz joins Mesirow after serving as vice president, investor relations at HarbourVest, where he focused on coordinating, monitoring and enhancing relationships with new and existing investors, as well as investment consultants. Prior to that, Karelitz held sales, business development and relationship management roles at Columbia Threadneedle Investments.

JOHANNESBURG – The state capture commission said that companies and individuals that received payments from the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa’s (Prasa) locomotives contract awarded to Swifambo Rail should face the full might of the law.
The commission heard evidence by liquidators and forensic investigators who looked at money flows from the company that appear to have been a front for German company Vossloh Rail.

JOHANNESBURG – The state capture commission said that it would detail all the questions that it wanted Swifambo Rail director Auswell Mashaba to answer like it did when former President Jacob Zuma refused to appear.
Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo made the comments on Wednesday after testimony by forensic investigator Marc Sacks about how the company was formed specifically for the R3.5 billion locomotives contract from the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (Prasa).

JOHANNESBURG - Forensic investigator Marc Sacks said Auswell Mashaba told his firm that as soon as Swifambo had signed a R3.5 billion locomotives deal, two people approached him demanding R80 million for the African National Congress (ANC).
Speaking at the state capture commission on Thursday, Sacks said Mashaba had stated that he paid the money but he was not sure if the money reached the party.
Voslooh was contracted by Swifambo to supply the 70 locomotives, that were ordered by the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (Prasa) for R3.5-billion.
