WORCESTER – Nursing students from Quinsigamond Community College were among the first medical staff in the region to administer the first round of COVID-19 vaccines last week. Eight students, along with instructor Margaret Yoder, a professor of nurse education at QCC, and fellow faculty member Christian Ilustre, helped give 100 shots to employees from Harrington Hospital in Southbridge last Friday. “Our entire college community feels tremendous pride knowing our nursing students are playing such a vital role in our nation’s history,” QCC President Luis G. Pedraja said. “So many of our students are front-line workers who are essential to the safety and well-being of our community. They emulate what it means to be a Wyvern – QCC’s mascot that is a symbol for community guardianship.”

The students, professor of Nurse Education Margaret Yoder and faculty member Christian Ilustre worked with more than a dozen Harrington Hospital nurses at the Southbridge Armory on Friday.
