Charges progress against Phuket mass party venue operators
PHUKET: Patong Police Chief Col Sujin Nilabodi has confirmed that the managers of the three venues where the mass parties were held in Phuket last month, marking the beginning of the ‘Third Wave’ infections on the island, will face charges under the Emergency Decree.

The “parties”, organised by Kolour beachside, at Cafe Del Mar Phuket in Kamala, Illuzion nightclub on Bangla Rd and at the Shelter Phuket Dance & Night Club, also in Patong.

PHUKET: Vaccinations at all four remote-site ‘vaccination centres’ have been halted, with vaccinations to continue only at the Indoor Sports Stadium at Saphan Hin. The news was announced by Phuket Vice Governor Piyapong Choowong last night (Apr 9), and comes as officials now recognise the number of people in Phuket infected with COVID-19 has risen to 26.

PHUKET: Any people who attended any of the three mass parties held in Phuket last weekend in any capacity have been asked to present themselves at the nearest government hospital in order to be tested for COVID-19.

PHUKET: Two more Covid-19 cases have been confirmed in Phuket, both patients infected at a local bar, leading to the immediate temporary closure of three pubs, and all others from Friday.
Phuket health chief Koosak Kookiatkul said on Thursday the two people visited the Illuzion Patong pub.
The new infections raised the number of cases reported recently in the island province to 10. One of them was linked to a pub in Thong Lor area of Bangkok.
