Officers found more than 90 people crammed into a Houston home on Friday, some of them showing symptoms of Covid-19, in what was being investigated as a possible case of human smuggling, the police said.

HOUSTON The man accused of running an alleged human smuggling operation in southwest Houston has been charged.
Mauro Dominguez-Maldonado, a 36-year-old Honduran national who officials say is here illegally, has been charged with harboring 29 people in a stash house.
Dominguez-Maldonado was arrested Thursday after one of the victims managed to escape the home in the 4800 block of Raven Ridge Drive. Someone called 911 when they heard a man calling for help, and when police arrived, he led them back to the house.

HOUSTON Another suspected human smuggling stash house has been found in our area.
The one found on Monday was in the 11300 block of Fondren in southwest Houston.
Homeland Security Investigations and Houston police arrested Jorge Antonio Coello Chavez, 50, of Gaithersburg, Md. He is charged with operating a stash house and human smuggling.
Five men from Ecuador and one from Guatemala, who were being held at the stash house, were taken into custody as potential witnesses and to be processed for immigration violations by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
