Courtney Hohl steps into City Council role in Bee Cave
Courtney Hohl, the only new Bee Cave City Council member to take office in November, comes from a long line of public servants in Florida.
“My great grandfather on my dad’s side was a Florida state senator, my grandfather was a city mayor,” she said. “I’ve always been around politics and I thought one day I might want to run for something.”
So when a seat opened up for a special election this year, Hohl, 43, decided to go for it. She has lived in the Austin area since 2003 and in Bee Cave with her husband and two sons since 2013. Hohl was the only candidate who filed to run in the special election to fill the seat Bill Goodwin vacated when he resigned from the council in the spring, so it was canceled in August. She was sworn in on Nov. 6.
