May 11, 2021 Gordon Eugene Yetter, 84, of Loyalsock, passed away at Embassy of Loyalsock Nursing home following a courageous battle with ALS. He was born in Lewistown on March 1, 1937 and was the son of the late Clarence D. and Elba M. (Mattern) Yetter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Ezra, William, Gary, David and Paul Yetter. Gordon is survived by his wife, Nancy C. (Weiss) Yetter, whom he married on May 17, 1964; one daughter, Debra Derr and her husband, Ronald Derr and one sister, Bonnie Adams with her husband, Jim Adams, of Lewistown. Gordon Retired from AVCO (Textron) where he worked as a draftsman for many years. Gordon loved to work with wood and made beautiful furniture and cabinetry for himself and others. He was an avid Penn State Football fan who attended a number of games with his brothers when they were younger and enjoyed games on the TV when they could no longer attend the games live. Apr 2, 2021 Calvin A. Packard, Sr., 95, of Williamsport, died peacefully on April 1, 2021, at Rose View Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born on May 19, 1925, in Jersey Shore, son of Laura (Wheeland) Packard. Calvin was a WWII Army Air Corp. Veteran, he graduated from Lycoming College with a BS in mathematics, he was employed by the NASA Federal Manned Flight Center from 1960-1983. While employed with NASA, he was responsible for developing and operating a computer software system to support the freedom missions which started with the John Glen flight, America’s first manned mission into outer space, this system was continually used to support all near Earth manned flights and provided backup support for the Lunar flights. Calvin enjoyed fishing, hunting and wood working; he built his mother’s house and the family cabin. He was a bookkeeper, grew his own vegetables and planted fruit trees; he also wrote his own computer program, consulted with area business and taught computer
