Abby Hopkins joins Power FM 949 Breakfast show

Abby Hopkins joins Power FM 949 Breakfast show Grant Broadcasters has announced the replacement for Kaley Baker on Power FM 949’s Breakfast show in Nowra. In her place at Power FM will be Abby Hopkins, who joins from Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) on the NSW Central Coast. In addition to co-hosting Breakfast alongside Andy Sands, Hopkins will also act as promotions manager. In addition, Lachy Perry has been appointed as production manager and Workday announcer. It is his first full-time position in radio after completing an AFTRS course last year as well as work experience at KIIS and 2SER. Peter Andrea has also been appointed as Breakfast journalist. Andrea has been chief of staff for WIN Television in the Central West of NSW and Townsville as well as deputy chief of staff at WIN in the Illawarra. Most recently he has been working in the Riverina region for the ABC.

ARN adds national operations manager via internal promotion May 7, 2021 10:22 Australian Radio Network (ARN) has announced two promotions, with Richie Wright moving into the newly created role of national content operations manager, and Jeff Burzacott taking up the role of content director, Adelaide. In the new role, Wright will work closely with ARN’s chief content officer Duncan Campbell and content directors around the country to carry out the company’s audio content strategy for listener and commercial content across all of ARN’s radio, music and podcast platforms. Burzacott takes the role of content director in Adelaide from Wright, who was appointed into the position in October 2020. The role was previously held by Barry Keohane, who left to join Grant Broadcasters as  regional content director across Victoria and South Australia.

Grant Broadcasters brings Lauren Broad on board as part of digital team Grant Broadcasters has hired Lauren Broad as a digital specialist within its digital commercial team. Broad will work closely with all departments within the digital team as well as directly with stations and external digital clients. Broad started her career as a promotional assistant and then research analyst at Southern Cross Austereo (SCA). Since then, she’s been a marketing and account manager at TwentyTwo Digital, as well as running her own graphic designing operation. “Lauren brings to the team experience working with small to medium-sized businesses, creating marketing strategies, client management, and has a strong background in graphic design, social and Google advertising. We believe Lauren’s mix of skills and experience will help us to strengthen our digital offerings both internally and externally,” Logan said.

Kaley Baker to depart Power FM 949 Breakfast show Power FM 949 in Nowra is on the hunt for a new Breakfast announcer. Current co-host Kaley Baker is on the move from the NSW South Coast station to take up a post at Star 101.9 in Mackay, Queensland. Both stations are owned by Grant Broadcasters. At Star, Baker will be filling in for Rachel Zonta while she is on maternity leave.  They need a minimum of two years on air. Applications are open until 5pm on Friday, May 7. Interested parties should send their CV, a recent aircheck and a cover letter to Mandy Coolen.
