OHIO faculty and staff invited to attend OHIO Guarantee+ open sessions Published: March 4, 2021 Author: Staff reports In January, Executive Vice President and Provost Elizabeth Sayrs shared an update on OHIO’s Student Success Initiative, announcing that the Career and Leadership Development Center (CLDC), Allen Student Advising Center (ASAC) and Office of Undergraduate Experiential Learning (EL) have been aligned within the Office of the Provost, under the leadership of Assistant Vice Provost Jen Murphy.   Murphy and her team are leading the implementation of the OHIO Guarantee+ Graduation Plan program, which will serve its second cohort of students in Fall 2021. Launched as a pilot in Fall 2020, the OHIO Guarantee+ involved a limited number of academic programs across seven colleges. by Joe Giordano published Feb. 23 It’s been over a decade since the announcement of the Student Success Initiative a bold challenge that charted an ongoing commitment to raising graduation rates at Colorado State University. In the past 14 years, the Student Success Initiative has boosted six-year graduation rates above the 70% mark, a daunting challenge back in 2007. With the progress of the Student Success Initiative, CSU set its sights on creating equitable educational environments inside and outside of the classroom as a way to bolster graduation rates. In 2017, the second phase of the Student Success Initiative was born. The university made key hires and innovative moves with the goal of eliminating opportunity gaps for first-generation students, students of color and students from limited-income backgrounds.

Texoma students will return to the classroom for 2021 STAAR Herald Democrat The Texas Education Agency recently released guidance to districts, who will be required to administer the STAAR test in-person this year in spite of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and Texoma schools are taking steps to ensure students are safe when they take standardized tests on campus this spring. This will mark the first time that the STAAR test has been administered since 2019. The requirement for the annual test was waived last year during the early days of the pandemic. With COVID, everyone is navigating and trying to make decisions without prematurely making decisions. Everyone is just navigating, said Regina Prigge, Denison Independent School District director of assessment and special programs.
