Madrid (Spain): A massive explosion rocked a building in central Madrid resulting in the death of at least three and injuring eight. Local reports said that the Spanish emergency service was responding to an explosion in Madrid city centre. Visuals being circulated on social media showed debris sprayed around a building engulfed in smoke and dust.

Two people are dead and at least two others are hurt after an explosion in Madrid on Wednesday.
Officials say the explosion was caused by a gas leak inside a building on Toledo Street in Spain’s capital.
Smoke could be seen coming from a six-story building, and debris scattered throughout the street near the city center.
The Madrid general vicar says one person linked to the Catholic church inside part of the building is still missing.
At least two people died and several were seriously injured on Wednesday when an explosion ripped through a building in central Madrid, the Spanish capital's mayor said.

A loud explosion apparently caused by a gas leak has partially destroyed a residential building in the centre of Spain’s capital, killing two people and injuring at least two more, according to officials.
The first images and footage shared on social media showed a tower of smoke coming out from the six-storey building and rubble scattered in Toledo Street, near the city centre.
Emergency crews could be seen aiding several people on the ground.
