Netflix Drops Trailer For Creepy Italian Chiller A Classic Horror Story, Which Gives Old Tropes a New Twist

Netflix has dropped a teaser-trailer for Italian chiller “A Classic Horror Story,” which appears to reference Italy’s past horror masters like Dario Argento and Mario Bava but also looks like it will break new ground.
The creepy pic, set to launch globally on the streamer July 14, is co-directed by young helmers Roberto De Feo and Paolo Strippoli. De Feo’s directorial debut, gothic chiller “The Nest,” launched in 2019 from the Locarno Film Festival and played on its 8,000-seat Piazza Grande dedicated to crowdpleasers. Strippoli is at his first feature film.

Variety, the newest addition to the list,
A Classic Horror Story, hails from Italy and will arrive on Netflix on July 14.
And much like in the vein of other classics in the genre,
A Classic Horror Story follows the tale of five carpoolers in a motorhome travelling together. When night falls, they attempt to avoid a dead animal on the road, causing them to crash into a tree. But when they wake up, they find themselves stuck in the middle of nowhere, with the road they d been traveling on having disappeared, leaving only a dense forest and a wooden house in the middle of a clearing, which just happens to belong to a cult with a fondness for children s music. Netflix is giving a glimpse of the new film A Classic Horror Story.
ADVERTISEMENT The streaming service shared a teaser for the Italian horror film Friday.
The preview opens with a shot of a house with a unique roof and diamond-shaped window. The scene switches to a mounted deer head inside the house, which is then blocked by a person wearing a hood. Another person is then seen in a contraption with two spikes just above their eyes.
In a tweet, Netflix described the film as the Italian Midsommar meets Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
