Wednesday Wrap: Hofstra Edges Saint Joseph s, Duke Offense Erupts

Wed Feb 17 2021 | Kenny DeJohn | College PHOTO BY GAVIN BAKER / SIDELINE PHOTOS Grace Langella scored three goals, including the game-winner for Hofstra on Wednesday. What at first didn’t look like a back-and-forth affair became one that came down to the wire. Grace Langella assisted Arianna Esposito with 16:10 left in the first half, giving Hofstra an early four-goal lead over Saint Joseph’s. The Hawks quickly responded, scoring four of the next five. What ensued from there was the textbook definition of back-and-forth. It was Langella who later gave Hofstra a 10-9 lead with 8:31 remaining that would prove to be the final. Neither team held an advantage of more than one goal in the second half.
