We are in at the hub, in the heart and the soul of the school, Pentland said. She s been a librarian for 13 years in Omaha and Lincoln, currently working at Lincoln s North Star High School. Pentland worries about not just her job, but her career. If there is not an actual state rule or state law that says, a certified school librarian needs to be present in every building, then that doesn t happen, she said.

(KLKN) – Nebraska’s teachers union is asking state officials to begin the process of vaccinating school employees within the next two weeks. The request came in a letter to Gov. Pete Ricketts and state health officials on Friday from the Nebraska School Education Association. NSEA President Jenni Benson and Executive Director Maddie Fennell also said the union’s “experience is that some Health Districts are unaware of or are not implementing” the state’s directive that health departments allocate 10% of their COVID-19 vaccine doses for certain populations.
