A MAN who threatened to kill his girlfriend during an argument was yesterday fined $300 in the Magistrate’s Court.
Luckner Frazier was arrested after he threatened to kill the mother of his children on December 5.
He admitted the offence in a hearing before Assistant Chief Magistrate Subusola Swain.
The prosecution said that day, the complainant told police she and Frazier got into an argument at her place of work. The court was told that the accused threatened to take her life during the disagreement. Frazier’s threats placed his girlfriend in fear for her life and prompted her to file an official complaint with police.

A MAGISTRATE on Friday discharged a man who was arrested for selling coconuts on the side of the road.
Antonio Glinton, 27, was charged with hawking, after officers found him selling coconut jelly and water on Harold Road without a valid permit on December 10.
He pleaded guilty during his hearing before Assistant Chief Magistrate Subusola Swain.
However, before the prosecution’s facts were read, Glinton claimed he had already applied for a permit which had not been approved as yet.
During the arraignment, Glinton also told the magistrate the officers that arrested him that day made fun of him and drank all of his coconut water at the police station where he was detained.

A 24-year-old man who broke into a woman’s house was sentenced to three years in prison on Friday.
Remeldo Clarke was arrested after he was accused of breaking into a woman’s Farm Road residence on September 23, 2019.
The prosecution alleged the accused also attempted to escape from Fox Hill police station and assaulted an officer that was on duty that same day.
Clarke originally denied the allegations during a hearing before Assistant Chief Magistrate Subusola Swain last year.
However, after spending 15 months on remand, he returned to court on Friday to plead guilty to the charges.

A 30-year-old man who last week punched and choked his friend’s mother was yesterday fined $600.
Jerome Joseph was arrested after he assaulted a woman in her home on December 7.
He pleaded guilty to one count each of threats of harm and assault during his arraignment before Assistant Chief Magistrate Subusola Swain yesterday.
The court was told on the day in question, the complainant was at her home when the accused came over. The prosecution said when the woman asked Joseph to leave, he refused to do so and then threatened to punch and kick her. The court heard the defendant then choked the woman and pushed her against a wall. As a result of her complaint, Joseph was arrested.
