Grand jury will consider charges in downtown Lima stabbings

Bond remained set at $100,000 for Antonio McNeal, 37, of Lima, who is charged with felonious assault in connection with the July 9 stabbing. McNeal’s case was bound over from Lima Municipal Court to common pleas court.
Jamar Burns, 28, of Detroit, charged with felonious assault in connection with a July 9 stabbing near downtown Lima, had his case bound over to Allen County Common Pleas Court on Monday. Burns was described as the “prinicipal offender” in the stabbing that left Patrick Deal hospitalized with multiple stab wounds to the chest and hand.

A shrine has been erected for 4-year-old My’Laya Dewitt outside the home on North Elizabeth Street in Lima where she was found unresponsive last week. Romiere Hale has been charged with murder in her death, and her mother faces a child endangerment charge.
