PESHAWAR: The Provincial Doctors Association has expressed concern over increasing deaths of doctors due to Covid-19 and demanded Shuhada package for heirs of all the 62 health professionals, including 39 doctors, who laid their lives while saving other patients.
As the province’s death toll from coronavirus reached 1,638 with 11 new fatalities and 58,379 incidences with 397 fresh cases on Wednesday, PDA said that Dr Hola, a senior radiologist, died of Covid-19 on Tuesday and her husband Prof Dr Syed Iqrar Hussain Zaidi on Dec 4.
In a letter to KP secretary health, PDA chairman Dr Amir Taj Khan said the provincial cabinet on April 30 had approved Shuhada package for the families of martyred doctors which hadn’t been implemented so far.

PESHAWAR:
The toll the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) is having on medics in the province refuses to subside after another medical practitioner succumbed to the pandemic virus on Saturday.
This has raised the total number of doctors who have died from the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) to 38 while some 58 medical staff have perished so far.

PESHAWAR: The coronavirus on Saturday claimed 15 more lives, including a doctor, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, taking the death toll from the fatal disease to 1536 and the number of doctors, who have died of the infectious disease, has jumped to 38 in the province.
This is the highest number of people who have died of coronavirus in the province in the second wave of coronavirus pandemic.
Among the dead was a one-year baby child, Bisma, who died of coronavirus.
According to Farhad Khan, media manager of the Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH), a one-year baby girl was brought to them two weeks ago with multiple health complications. He said the baby was diagnosed with coronavirus and was kept in an isolation room. She was shifted to the children ward after her PCR report was declared negative, where she died on Saturday. She was probably the first child who died of coronavirus in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. She belonged to Nowshera district.

PESHAWAR: One more doctor died of Covid-19 on Friday amid increasing number of positive cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Dr. Muzaffar Syed had contracted with coronavirus infection a few weeks ago and was under treatment in Coronavirus ICU ward of Saidu Sharif Teaching Hospital.
Paying tribute to Dr. Muzaffar Shah and martyred doctors due to infectious virus, Provincial Doctors Association, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said that so far 37 doctors and more than 40 other health staff members had died of coronavirus in the province.

PESHAWAR / ISLAMABAD: One more frontline doctor fell victim to the coronavirus on Friday, as Pakistan saw 83 Covid-19-related fatalities and 2,972 infections in a single day amid a second wave surge that has seen nearly a fourth of Covid tests coming up positive in Hyderabad.
The frontline worker, identified as Dr Muzaffar Syed, died in a Peshawar. He reportedly contracted the coronavirus infection a few weeks ago and was under treatment in the coronavirus intensive care ward of Saidu Sharif’s Teaching Hospital.
