17 Year Old Charged With Rape of 13 Year Old Girl

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the Gizo Police Station in the Western province have arrested and charged a 17-year-old male suspect for the alleged rape of a 13-year-old girl at Suanatali Village on Vella la Vella Island between January and December 2020.
An initial report says the suspect committed the alleged offence on the victim without her consent on two occasions between January and December 2020 at Suanatali Village.
Police in Solomon Islands have charged and remanded four Papua New Guineans for illegally entering the country.
The group from the Tasman Islands crossed over by boat to the Malaita Outer Islands on Boxing Day, allegedly to purchase the local homebrew called Kaleve.

They were arrested by police and screened by medical authorities in the outer islands before being transported to the capital.
In Honiara, they were further screened then released to police after testing negative for Covid-19.
Three 19-year-olds and a 34-year-old have been charged with illegal entry by a non-citizens under Covid-19 state of public emergency regulation.
40 Year Old Man Arrested for Striking Wife with Firewood
The suspect has been charged for physical abuse and intimidation and will appear today (1 February 2021) at Auki Magistrates’ Court.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Auki, Malaita Province have arrested a 40-year-old husband from Aefa’ai Village in North Malaita after striking the forehead of his 30-year-old wife on 13 January 2021.
Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Malaita Province, Inspector Michael Ramosaea says, “It is alleged that the suspect grabbed her wife’s hair and started punching her face repeatedly. He kicked her lower abdominal, took a piece of firewood and struck her forehead wounding her.”
Thugs Injure Passenger During Knife Attack
Inspector Ramosaea says, “The victim of the wounding incident had no connection in relation to the land dispute. He is a passenger on board the transport.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Auki are investigating a knife attack by a group of young men.
The attck resulted in the wounding of a passenger who was on board the same truck which was traveling to Atori in East Malaita on 5 January 2021.
Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Malaita Province, Inspector Michael Ramosaea says, “The incident happened along the east road to Atori at the night on the 5th January 2021.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Henderson Police Station have arrested another suspect in relation to Winwin robbery incident in Central Guadalcanal on 6 January 2021.
A 34-year-old suspect was arrested at the China town bus stop while he on his way to work in the evening. The suspect is from Lau in Malaita Province who resides in Central Honiara.
Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Guadalcanal Province Superintendent Edwin Sevoa says, “The arrest was successfully done with assistance from members of the public with information. The suspect is now in police custody awaiting further dealings and remand application.”
