MANSFIELD - An 80-year-old minister died Wednesday in a fire in his garage at 1836 E. Hanley Road. The victim was identified as the Rev. Philip Banks, according to Richland County coroner s investigator Tom Stortz. Banks was pronounced dead at the scene. Stortz said his body was taken to the Montgomery County Medical Examiner s Officer on Thursday for an autopsy. Banks was working on a mower at his small engine repair shop when he was killed, said Pastor Dave Guild of Mansfield Foursquare Church. Guild said Banks was retired, but did not know the meaning of the word, retired. He was an assisting pastor at the Mansfield Foursquare Church and previous was senior pastor at the Lucas Foursquare Church and at Marysville Foursquare Church, Guild said.
