Apr 21, 2021 FONDA The dormant former home of Beech-Nut Foods in Canajoharie, will soon take an important step closer to again becoming an economic engine for the region as the result of an exclusive option agreement between Montgomery County and E29 Labs. E29 Labs is a team of experienced commercial cannabis production professionals that are poised to capitalize on the state’s recent legalization of the industry. At Tuesday’s meeting of the County Legislature’s Economic Development and Planning Committee, the Legislature advanced a funded exclusive development option agreement, which would convert to a purchase-and-sale agreement, pending the completion of a12-month due diligence period by E29 Labs.

(Photo submitted) FONDA C.P.’s Family Restaurant has been a staple of the Hagaman community for the past 38 years, as it occupies one of the village’s oldest buildings. The restaurant, which specializes in homemade family style cooking, has made a number of adjustments throughout the pandemic in order to continue serving their valued patrons. They are now being recognized by Montgomery County Executive Matthew L. Ossenfort and the Montgomery County Business Development Center as the January Small Business of the Month. 

County Executive urges community assistance in containing virus

Dec 11, 2020 FONDA Montgomery County is experiencing a rapidly increasing number of positive COVID-19 test results. Despite their best efforts, the Public Health Department is having difficulty keeping up with the large volume of cases and has started to prioritize case investigation/ following up according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance. 
“This is a time when we need to pull together as a community,” said Montgomery County Executive Matthew L. Ossenfort said in news release. “It’s critical that we do not let our guard down and continue to use best practices such as wearing masks, hand-washing, social distancing and most importantly following the protocols outlined for quarantine and isolation.”
