Wrong way driver on I-45 in Woodlands leaves family in critical condition

A driver going the wrong way on Interstate 45 crashed head on into a minivan, injuring two adults and a child early Sunday.
Dispatchers got calls around 12:45 a.m. that a driver southbound in the northbound lane on I-45 in a Ford Taurus. Eventually, the car crashed into the minivan near the Research/Lake Woodlands exit.
South Montgomery County Firefighters worked for about 45 minutes to free the male driver, a female passenger, and a 12-year-old female from the van.
The driver and child were taken to Memorial Hermann-Woodlands in critical condition. The child was later taken by Life Flight to the Texas Medical Center in Houston. The adult female passenger was in stable condition. The wrong-way driver was also in stable condition.
