MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - Montgomery police have charged a suspect in a February robbery and shooting.
Joedauris Tolliver, 21, is charged with robbery first degree and discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling, Montgomery Police Capt. Saba Coleman said.
Coleman says the charges are related to an incident that happened on Feb. 8 in the 4200 block of Sunshine Drive.
Court records say after robbing the victim, Tolliver and another suspect shot into a home while the victim and another person were inside. The building was damaged by gunfire.
The case against Vinson was ultimately dismissed following a preliminary hearing where District court Judge Tiffany McCord found no probable cause against him. The case against Tolliver was forwarded to a grand jury.
Now, a third Montgomery man, 22-year-old Sequan Gorman has also been charged with reckless murder, according to court records filed Friday.
It wasn t the first time Merritt had been shot. He d been homeless for about five years when he was shot in the leg in 2019 leaving him with a broken femur and nerve damage. He was dependent upon a wheelchair.
Then in September, he was in the wrong place at the wrong time, according to Gorman s court records.
