Pakistan, Afghanistan ODIs shifted to Sri Lanka from UAE Staff Report
LAHORE: The three-match ODI series between Afghanistan and Pakistan will be played at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium in Hambantota, Sri Lanka instead of in the United Arab Emirates, as originally planned. The series, which is the first bilateral contest between the two sides, will be played between September 1 and 5 as the venues in the UAE were unavailable because of the second leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, which has been tentatively scheduled to begin on September 20. Earlier this month, the schedule for the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) was tweaked to avoid an overlap with the IPL, and the next edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in 2022 has also been slotted into a January-February window to avoid a clash with the IPL which is expected to be played in April-May.
