The rescued Honduran fishermen, from the Falling Star vessel that had gone missing last week, have reported that five of their colleagues died at sea.
The surviving ten fishermen were rescued by a passing ship, and taken back to Honduras, yesterday (July 15).
The vessel was contracted by Rainforest Seafood Company to provide lobsters and was en route to Jamaica when it disappeared.
Speaking with IRIE FM news, General Manager for Rainforest Seafood, Jerome Miles said based on reports given by the distraught fishermen, their Captain is among the five who died.
He said the fishermen were trained about how to handle these situations, and as such, psychological issues should be minimal.
