Dubai Hills Estate, Arabian Ranches, The Springs and Nakheel’s Nad Al Sheba community made up 30 per cent of all such ready homes sold in the first three months of the year. In all, 2,231 ready villas and townhouses were sold in Q1-2021, quite a big lead on the 673 units in the first three months of last year, according to Property Finder.
A three-bedroom Dubai Hills home currently lists for Dh3.5 million and over, while at Arabian Ranches, there are listings from Dh2.4 million or thereabouts.
According to market sources, recent enquiries have overwhelming favoured ready options rather than buy offplan. It has seen developers push 10-15 per cent straight discounts on their offplan projects to get some of the buyer interest that is out there.

DUBAI, 6 hours, 36 minutes ago Dubai s residential sector witnessed increased activity in the first quarter with a total of 2,231 ready villas/townhouses having been sold during the period compared to 673 last year, acording to UAE real estate portal Property Finder. The pandemic brought forth a lot of new trends into the real estate sector, not only in Dubai but across the world. One of the most significant trends was a clear increase in demand for villa/townhouses which have transpired into sales transactions, stated Property Finder in its report. In Q1, the transaction numbers were higher than ever and registered record breaking month-on-month sales for ready properties, with the villa/townhouse segment leading the way, said the report.

GROWING pressure is mounting on a superstore to instal electric car charging points - following the threat of a clean air charge. Imelda Clancy, Independent councillor for Langdon Hills Ward, urged Tesco top chiefs to add the points after worries about a lack of charging areas near homes. She says it is discouraging motorists from buying the cars, which would lead to more pollution and a potential congestion charge on the A127. She said: “Within the immediate vicinity of the Langdon Hills Tesco store, I can think of at least three estates - Langdon Hills Estate, Five Links and Merrylands - where the residents don’t have a front drive to park on.
