GROWING pressure is mounting on a superstore to instal electric car charging points - following the threat of a clean air charge.
Imelda Clancy, Independent councillor for Langdon Hills Ward, urged Tesco top chiefs to add the points after worries about a lack of charging areas near homes.
She says it is discouraging motorists from buying the cars, which would lead to more pollution and a potential congestion charge on the A127.
She said: “Within the immediate vicinity of the Langdon Hills Tesco store, I can think of at least three estates - Langdon Hills Estate, Five Links and Merrylands - where the residents don’t have a front drive to park on.
