Pub Sells Single Pint Of Beer For $1k | WACO-FM

May 18, 2021 We now have an official titleholder as “the most expensive glass of beer in England.” The Packhorse Pub has been closed since last year due to the pandemic restrictions, and when they learned they would be allowed to reopen they decided to have some fun and help two good causes. With a listing on eBay, the pub auctioned off the first drink poured in the pub in over a year. A fun idea, and it turned out to be a good one for the charities. The auction was won by Olivia and Isabelle Cundy, who purchased a pint of Birra Moretti beer for $1,065. The proceeds of the sale are being donated to the Dorothy House Hospice Care and the Mountain Way, a charity that specializes in helping military personnel dealing with PTSD.

Pub Auctions Off First Pint Poured In Over A Year For $1,065

It was reportedly made by Olivia and Isabelle Cundy, who purchased a pint of Birra Moretti. The proceeds of the sale will be donated to the Dorothy House Hospice Care and the Mountain Way, a charity that specializes in helping military personnel dealing with PTSD. It comes as the country announced plans to reopen cautiously amid the pandemic. “We are keeping the spread of the variant first identified in India under close observation and taking swift action where infection rates are rising,” Prime Minister Boris Johnson shared. “I urge everyone to be cautious and take responsibility when enjoying new freedoms today in order to keep the virus at bay.”
