The first roads and pavements set to benefit from increased investment into Southend highways have been announced. Resurfacing will take place on 30 roads and 31 pavements as part of the council’s £5million programme to make improvements in the area.
Here are all the roads set to be resurfaced:
Eastwood Road North: From A127 to aproximately number 40 Eastwood Road North
Elmsleigh Drive: From Eastwood Road North to 186 Elmsleigh Drive
Elmsleigh Drive: From Manchester Drive to No. 146 Elmsleigh Drive
London Road: Lindisfarne Avenue to Chalkwell Park
Lansdowne Avenue: Entire Road
Southchurch Road: From Tesco Petrol Station to number 501 Southchurch Road
Southchurch Road: From Junction Southchurch Avenue to Car Garage (number 329 to 337)
The latest plans in the Bridport area Three existing mobile homes for holiday use on a site at Pilsdon have become subject to an application for a lawful development certificate. The application to Dorset Council from Purcombe Farm, Batts Lane, also includes the construction and use of what is described as an ancillary amenity building. Forms submitted by Nicholas and Georgina Bailey say the certificate should be granted because the use has continue for ten years or more and the building works were substantially completed more than four years before the date of the application. The site is on the western side of Batts Lane about a third of a mile south of Pilsdon with Shave Cross further along Batts Lane to the south within the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The riverbank by West Bay Holiday Park West Bay Holiday Park has been given consent to re-position 25 caravans within the park until the end of March. The move had been requested to allow flood defence work to go ahead along the riverbank at the Parkdean complex. The caravans will be moved to the touring field site whilst the Environment Agency works are completed along the banks of the River Brit. Bridport Town Council had supported the temporary relocation. Other local planning applications decided by Dorset Council include – 78 North Allington, single storey garden room; 7 North Hill Close, Burton Bradstock, single storey extension and alterations; 99 East Road, Bridport, single storey rear extensions, front porch and first floor extension with dormer windows; Churchill Farm, Mosterton, detached home previously agreed but changes to original application; Cockroad Farm, Beaminster, demolition of derelict piggery, erection of stable block and feed store and menage;
