May 8, 2021 Mr. David R. Thompson, 77, a resident of Elkins, passed away Wednesday morning, May 5, 2021, in the Davis Medical Center Emergency Department. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until noon, Saturday, May 8, 2021, at the Elkins Church of the Brethren. A funeral service will be held at noon Saturday from the church with Pastor Mark Teets and Rev. Dennis McCoy officiating. Masks and social distancing will be required for those attending the service. Interment will follow in the Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman where presentation of the American Flag will be made by members of the West Virginia National Guard Honor Guard Program. Memorial contributions may be made to the Elkins Church of the Brethren, c/o Lucinda Barrick, PO Box 1221, Elkins, WV 26241 in memory of Mr. Thompson.
