MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) - Amid a chaotic scene at the US Capitol on Wednesday, several South Carolina lawmakers responded on social media as protestors stormed the building in Washington, D.C. as Congress was in the process of certifying the results of Novemberâs presidential election.
Congressman Tom Rice tweeted Wednesday afternoon that he is safe, but condemned the actions of the protesters.
âCapitol Police evacuated us from the Capitol Building. DC is in chaos. This will accomplish nothing,â he said. âWhere is the President!? He must ask people to disperse and restore calm now.â
