The National Planning Commission (NPC) has not only produced the Malawi 2063 vision document in braille version, but it has also started distribution the copies which are both in Chichewa and English.
The document was officially handed over to Malawi Union for the Blind (MUB) on Friday at their offices at Chiwembe in Limbe by NPC Director General, Dr. Thomas Munthali together with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Malawi which partnered with NPC in the production, printing and distribution of the braille version.

In his remarks, MUB president Moses Yohane said they have wholeheartedly and with immense satisfaction received the document, which “without any doubt will be read, meditated and understood” by all the visually impaired citizenry in order to positively contribute to its implementation.
At least 180, 000 agriculture-dependent rural households are expected to benefit from The Sustainable Food Systems for Rural Agriculture Transformation and Resilience (TRANSFORM) Programme, which a consortium of three Norwegian organizations is implementing in five districts in Malawi.
TRANSFORM Programme is being implemented in Dowa, Mchinji, Kasungu, Mzimba and Rumphi with an annual grant of NOK70m (MWK5.6billion) from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) through Royal Norwegian Embassy (RNE).

It is being coodinated by a consortium of three Norwegian organisations, which include The Development Fund of Norway (DF), Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) and Norwegian University for Life Sciences (NMBU) focusing on research.

Government employed teachers in primary, secondary school and colleges will soon have their own Teachers Savings and Credit Cooperative (Sacco) called Malawi Teachers SACCO (MATE SACCO).

This will be a conspicuous departure from the usual SACCOs to which many teachers have been members. The teachers feel time has come for them to manage and grow their own finances.
The idea which came about some time back is now taking significant shape and establishment of MATE SACCO is in its advanced stages.
A national meeting held at Umbwi Secondary School in Dedza on Tuesday 22nd December, 2020, laid down strong plans which will help realise this dream.
