New Jersey High School Students Launch Website To Help Peers Find Pre-College Opportunities

On Monday, CBS2’s Meg Baker spoke to the brains behind the idea.
Mehar Johal is a tech savvy 17-year-old. “I was sort of realizing that it’s a little hard to find summer programs for yourself. A lot of college sites or sites have like paywalls or you have to go through, like, lots of different websites in order to find just one opportunity,” Johal said.
So he wanted to create a way to make the search easier. Interested in computer science, he and two friends, Dhruv Rai and Arsh Batth, built a website with a search engine for pre-college opportunities.

Denise Wilkerson appointed as Personal Lines Specialist (Valley Insurance Agency Alliance)
Valley Insurance Agency Alliance (VIAA), a cohesive family of more than 130 independent insurance agencies in Missouri and Illinois, recently appointed Josh Coffman as Alliance Coordinator and Denise Wilkerson as Personal Lines Specialist.
In this position, Coffman will manage the technology, system processing, and analytic programming for the alliance s members. His strategic approach will ensure that all agency members are utilizing the alliance s computer hardware, software and networks within the organization. Prior to joining VIAA, Coffman served as an automation expert specializing in IT and business management. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo.
The Fort Worth Children s Partnership will also begin its spring semester in a virtual format.
The museum is also offering ongoing learning opportunities through the spring for schools and families, including virtual field trips, virtual science and history nights, virtual discovery lab online groups, discovery kits, and teen video creation programs.
New attractions and opportunities in January will include the Everybody Grows leadership network program, virtual member monthly events, and Preschool Family STEAM Club on Tuesdays.
In February, Museum School registration opens for Summer 2021 and Fall/Spring 2021-2022. Little Scholars Program registration opens for Spring and Summer tutoring sessions as well.
