BJ Penn arrested, under investigation for driving under the influence
A UFC Hall of Famer is in trouble with the law once again.
Former UFC two-division champion BJ Penn was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence Saturday in Honokaa, Hawaii, Hawaii Police Department spokesperson Denise Laitinen told ESPN on Monday. Penn was released pending an investigation, Laitinen said.
A request for comment from Penn family representative Gary Levitt was not immediately returned.
Officers from the Hawaii Police Department responded to a report of a reckless driver on a business property in Honokaa at about 4:51 p.m. Saturday, according to a release from the department. Witnesses told police that Penn, 42, was at the business earlier and was observed talking loudly towards employees and later drove off the property in a reckless manner.

BJ Penn is in trouble with the law once again.
As per MMA Fighting, the UFC Hall of Famer was arrested January 23 in Honokaa, Hawaii, on suspicion of DUI. The arrest came after a complaint towards Penn for reckless driving, Hawaii County Police Department spokesperson Denise Laitinen confirmed.
Penn’s arrest came to light after a video surfaced Monday that showed the Hawaiian who was notably belligerent and cursing at a civilian being put in a police car.
Penn nor his family rep Gary Levitt have responded for comment as of yet.

According to TMZ Sports, Penn was in Honokaa, Hawaii, on January 23 when he was arrested for driving under influence (DUI).
Hawaii County Police Department spokesperson Denise Laitinen confirmed to MMA Fighting that they received a reckless driver complaint.
Upon their arrival on the scene, they found out that the 42-year-old MMA fighter was involved in the incident.
Meanwhile, after BJ Penn s arrest, a video began circulating on social media, showing Penn ranting at cops while being arrested.
The Hawaii PD is already aware of the video, but they refused to reveal if it was taken during the January 23 incident.
