Community-spirited Brownies from Wetheral have declared war on litter, working with Carlisle City Council to make their local community a cleaner place. The young members of 1st Wetheral Brownies designed eye-catching anti-dog fouling posters and joined a local litter-pick as part of their contribution to this year’s Great British Spring Clean. They have been supported by council civil enforcement officers and posters to support the effort are now on display in and around Wetheral and Carlisle. Council officials were so impressed by the Brownies’ efforts that they visited the youngsters, handing them well-deserved goody bags. As well as increasing enforcement patrols in the Wetheral area, the officials printed the posters so they can be displayed.
