In the 53 years since being founded, Cincinnati Area Senior Services has developed a reputation for being committed to our clients, even delivering meals to them during snowstorms. The COVID-19 pandemic, however, has challenged us like never before.
Initially, we wondered how we’d meet the need. But our frontline employees have amazed us with their commitment.
At a time when home delivery of food is more important than ever, our employees have exhibited what it means to care deeply about other people. Like a firefighter running toward danger, our Meals on Wheels drivers haven’t hesitated to continue delivering meals to people’s homes. Instead, they have shown courage – and they continue to do so – working more hours than ever to meet the increased demand. In 2020, CASS delivered about 400,000 meals to older adults, a 30% increase due to the pandemic.
