Mumbai: Three Drug Peddlers Arrested In Dharavi, Drugs Worth Rs 1.2 Crore Seized An artistic representation of a person in handcuffs (Wikimedia Commons) Three people were arrested on Tuesday (27 April), by the Anti-Narcotics Cell in Mumbai, for their alleged involvement in drug dealing and drug possession as reported by ANI. Rizwan Rehmat Khan, Jabbar Abdul Sattar Khan and Fakarulla Aamir Badshaha Shaikh were taken into custody by the police near Akhil Bharatiya Kunchi Korve Nagar, Dharavi. One kg of Mephedrone, worth Rs 1.2 Crore and an electronic weighing machine from the possession of the three accused has also been recovered. A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act has been registered against all the accused.

The raids were conducted in areas of Malad, Parel and Santacruz and the agency also recovered drugs from the possession of the arrested persons. According to the NCB, one of the two accused had earlier been selected to become a policeman. The NCB, which has been probing the drugs angle in the actor s death case, started the investigation after it received official communication from the Enforcement Directorate (ED), in which there were various chats related to drug consumption, procurement, usage and transportation.

The NCB has seized a total of 30.5 lakhs of psychotropic drugs, 70,000 codeine-based cough syrups (CBCS) and 14.895 kg amphetamine in the current operation.
