Active cases of COVID-19 in southwest Saskatchewan have fallen by two-thirds over two weeks following a steep increase in mid-April.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority reported one new case in the region including Swift Current, Maple Creek and the area closest to the Alberta boundary. The total number of active cases sat at 31 on Friday, down from a recent peak of 117 on April 25, and down significantly from 93 cases on May 14.
The cumulative population of the urban and rural areas in the sub-zone is about 39,500.
