Chandigarh (Punjab) [India], April 26 (ANI): Haryana Police arrested the manager of a company dealing in oxygen cylinders for Industrial use, for black marketing of oxygen cylinders in the Barhi industrial area of the state on Sunday.
According to Haryana Police, secret information was received by Sonipat Police on April 24 that the manager of Shri Ganesh Air products Pvt Ltd named Kashish was selling oxygen cylinders at exorbitant rates in wake of growing demand for oxygen cylinders for treatment of covid-19 patients. DSP (Deputy Superintendent of Police) Ravinder was deputed to develop the information and DC (Deputy Commissioner) Sonipat was requested to appoint a duty magistrate, a medical officer and Drug Control Officer to plan and execute the raid. It was also decided that awareness programmes shall be conducted across the district especially in the regions known for illicit cultivation about the provision of NDPS Act and harmful effects of drugs.
The meeting also discussed assessing requirements of equipment for drug detection and submitting proposals for requisition of the same.
It was given out in the meeting that the Committee shall monitor the progress of investigation in cases having cross state implication.
Among others, the meeting was attended by members of the committee viz. SSP Kupwara, Ram Ambarkar; ADM Kupwara, Nazir Ahmad Lone; Zonal Director NCB, SDM Lolab, CEO Kupwara, CMO and Drug Control Officer Kupwara.

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights on Thursday issued summons to the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) and the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) over the lack of uniformity and standardisation in testing methods for detecting the presence of formaldehyde and asbestos in Johnson & Johnson s baby shampoo and talcum powder. Both formaldehyde and asbestos have been identified as a carcinogen, a substance that promotes the formation of cancer in the body.
