Celebrate Mario (MAR10) Day At This Local Arcade Pub

March 10 is Mario Day, and Texans Have Reason to Celebrate

I don t know about you, but I ve had an extremely busy Wednesday, and I ll be taking some work home with me tonight to get caught up. With everything going on, I almost forgot that today s an unofficial holiday that I can t let pass without spreading the joy and nostalgia to as many of you as possible. Today (March 10) is Mario Day! You know, as in Super Mario, the Italian plumber who s been dodging barrels, stomping goombas, racing karts, warping through pipes, and saving princesses since his first appearance in 1981 s arcade classic Donkey Kong. Before we go on, let s answer this question: Why is March 10 Mario Day?

Mario power-up fan art, drawn from memory by the Polygon staff

There was some internal debate about what counted as a power up in the Mario universe. The Mushroom, of course. But what about Kuribo’s Shoe? Is it a power up? A vehicle? What about all the helpless souls Mario possess in Mario Odyssey? Would the F.L.U.D.D. from Super Mario Sunshine count? These are the kinds of questions nobody wants to answer. So we didn’t! Please enjoy our wide range of Mario power-ups. Please read the artists’ statement’s to really get in the minds of the creators, and then let us know your favorites (all of them, right?) in the comments.

Random: Zelda Fan Builds Temple Of Time Entirely Out Of LEGO

Random: Zelda Fan Builds Temple Of Time Entirely Out Of LEGO We know it s Mario Day and all that, but we d just like to say - how come Mario gets his own LEGO set, but the vastly superiorLegend of Zelda series struggles to get any of its fan-made designs past the review stages at LEGO HQ? It s a travesty, is what it is. Maybe it s for the best, though, since we can t imagine an official LEGO Zelda set better than the ones Matthias Bartsch has been making. His latest is the Temple of Time from Ocarina of Time, featuring teeny-tiny recreations of the Master Sword and the Spiritual Stones that open the Door of Time.

Mario Maker 2 and Paper Mario: The Origami King are 35% off at the Nintendo eShop

A belated birthday gift. Updated on 11 March 2021 Mario Day may have been and gone but the party hasn t stopped at the Nintendo eShop where two of the mascot s top Switch games are now reduced by 35 per cent. Both Super Mario Maker 2 and Paper Mario: The Origami King are now £32.49. It s around the biggest discount we usually see for first-party Switch games on the eShop. Super Mario Maker 2 is the DIY-platformer that allows you to create your own devilishly difficult stages for other players to complete, or test yourself against those made by others. There s also a pre-crafted campaign that s well worth a playthrough by itself
