Alabama Man Arrested, Accused Of Fatally Shooting His Cousin In A Bricktown Hotel

By: Hunter McKee OKLAHOMA CITY - A man is behind bars following a deadly shooting in Bricktown, Oklahoma City police said. It happened early Saturday morning inside the Holiday Inn Hotel.  Police said two men were staying at the hotel when a fight broke out. That s when one of them was shot.  When officers arrived on scene, they found 48-year-old Mario Vines laying on the floor in one of the hallways. They said Vines was with 38-year-old Tarius Reed. “At some point, they became engaged in some kind of argument when one produced a pistol and shot the other, killing him,” said Oklahoma City police Master Sgt. Gary Knight.

By: News 9 OKLAHOMA CITY - According to authorities, around 2:30 a.m. officers responded to a shooting call at the Holiday Inn Express in Downtown OKC near Main Street and Mickey Mantel Drive. When officers arrived, they found the victim, 48-year-old Mario Vines in a hallway at the hotel with apparent gunshot wounds. Vines was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Vine s cousin, 38-year-old Tarius Reed was taken into custody, police said. Investigators believe the two got into some sort of altercation when Reed produced a pistol and shot and killed Vines. The two men were in Oklahoma City for a few weeks for work, police said.

Cousin of Bricktown shooting victim arrested in death

An altercation between two cousins early Sunday in Bricktown led to one man dead and another facing a murder complaint, police said. Around 2:25 a.m., Oklahoma City police responded to a call at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites at 101 E Main St., where they found Mario Vines, 48, dead inside a hallway. Police said Vines was involved in an altercation with his 39-year-old cousin, Tarius Reed, when Reed pulled out a pistol and shot Vines to death. Vines was pronounced dead at the scene. Reed was booked into the Oklahoma County jail on a murder complaint. He was being held without bail. The cousins are from Daphne, Alabama, and were in Oklahoma City for work, authorities said.
