Bills & Aches & Blues, a new 18-song set of 4AD artists covering other 4AD artistsâ songs, comes with both a distinguished pedigree and a wide stylistic purview.
A new compilation from 4AD called
Bills & Aches & Blues features artists from the labelâs roster covering songs from throughout the labelâs 40-year archive. Today, a new batch of songs from that collection has been shared: The selection includes Helado Negro covering Deerhunterâs âFuturism,â Tune-Yards playing the Breedersâ âCannonball,â Bing & Ruthâs rendition of Pixiesâ âGigantic,â Spencer.âs version of Grimesâ âGenesis,â and Efterklangâs cover of Piano Magicâs âPostal.â Listen to the five latest songs from the album, which is out April 2, below.
The label previously shared recordings by the Breeders, U.S. Girls, Tkay Maidza, Alduous Harding, and Maria Somerville. Other artists featured on the compilation include Big Thief, Future Islands, Dry Cleaning, Jenny Hval, and Bradford Cox.
